Chrysoprase is a type of chalcedony (which, in turn, is considered a type of quartz). Chrysoprase owes its name to its unusual color - greenish, emerald green or bluish green. After all, the word "chrysoprase" is formed from two Greek words "chrysos" and "prosos", which are translated as "gold" and "leek", respectively.

Jewelry varieties of chrysoprase:

Chrysoprase has one feature - this gem can become more faded from exposure to bright light. In this case, chrysoprase is wrapped in a wet cloth and after a while the color is restored.
